In this modern era, a time where more and more people drive a pickup as their primary vehicle, buyers are starting to look at classic trucks as a weekend option.
This 3100 is a great example of the “Advance Design” series of pickups that Chevrolet introduced after World War II and sold until the end of the 1955 model year.
This truck sits on a solid axle with 2-inch drop spindles and comes painted in Teal (Blue/Green) color. A chrome grille, Rally wheels/BF Goodrich and the authentic “stepside” add some further flair. The wood lined bed features a tailgate with hidden latches installed for lowering. Things get interesting when you open the hood and gaze upon the 383 CID V8 “Stroker” engine that pumps out some healthy power compared to what would have come in this 3100 from the factory. Better yet, it’s hooked up to a 6-speed automatic transmission with gear vendors overdrive turning the rear wheels through a 9″ Ford rear end. This small block Chevy roars through exhaust headers feeding Flowmaster mufflers and dual exiting pipes while the aluminum radiator with dual electric cooling fans keeps it running cool.
Inside this 1955 Chevrolet regular cab pickup there’s two cloth seats for driver and passenger that were sourced from a modern Toyota product. Dakota digital gauges were installed professionally and the car features power windows, JVC aftermarket stereo and an Ididit wheel with tilt steering column also. The LoKar floor shifter is a nice finishing touch to the cab and there’s even center console storage space for your belongings.
Most of the work on this 3100 was done at Hot Rods By Dean in Phoenix, Arizona (copies of receipts available with purchase). This 1955 Chevrolet 3100 is a quality example of a classic pickup truck that is ready to drive and enjoy or add your own finishing touches to.
