Yellow 1959 Chevrolet Apache 350 CID V8 3 Speed Automatic
Gateway Classic Cars of Scottsdale is excited to offer this rare 1959 Chevrolet Apache Fleetside pickup truck for sale right now in our Arizona showroom, located in North Phoenix.
This sporty looking workhorse, marketed as competition to Ford’s “Styleside” pickups, was a styling masterpiece even by late 50’s automotive standards with features like bat-wing fins, “jet-pod” side sculpture and cat eye taillamps.
This half-ton pickup, painted in a faded “Butternut Yellow”, has been fitted with new wheels and whitewall tires, slightly lowered with leaf spring adjustments and still turns heads despite a long life of work. It has received a minor overhaul but there remains some restoration to complete to get this Fleetside back to its former glory. Chrome front and rear bumpers have been replaced and there is a wood bed, although it will need new panels down the road.
The original engine has been swapped for a crate 350 CID small block motor that has just 500 miles on it since installed. There’s a new radiator with dual electric fans, Vintage AC (not verified for functionality) and you’ll love the way this pickup sounds thanks to a Flowmaster dual pipe system.
The transmission is a 3-speed automatic Turbo 350 unit with the gear lever located on the floor through an aftermarket selector. This Chevrolet Apache has a humble interior featuring a Black cloth bench seat and a factory style dash with a couple of additional gauges and turn signals added.
The owner, who has had this vehicle in his possession for almost 20 years, is representing this Fleetside as an “Arizona truck” which in itself is an attractive selling point.
